Luc Ex, the driving force behind The Ex for nearly 20 years, went from rough punk to transgressing stylistic boundaries following his meeting with Tom Cora. He then rubs shoulders with the world of sound poetry alongside Phil Minton in 4Walls heard here. Always alert, attentive to the developments of the moment, he now imagines this delightful juxtaposition of sound elements in the company of two young personalities from noise, hip-hop and sound poetry scenes. The strings (guitar and vocal) are curled, processed, triturated. Unrecognizable, they stretch in a jerky flow and offer a range suitable for improvisation. Music flayed alive that is lived instantly, in the moment.
